Camp Delicious was an amazing cooking experience for my daughter. She learned so much about cooking including knife skills, following a recipe, organizing a meal, clean up and utilizing a commercial kitchen. She came home and make us a full dinner - everything from scratch! The final 'Chopped' competition day was incredible! She is already talking about signing up next year. This camp is a 10!

We love everything about this camp. This is the only camp my daughter doesn’t complain about attending 😂. I really like how they introduce different foods each day and give the teens an opportunity to cook everything themselves. It makes the experience more hands-on, engaging, and enjoyable. We cant wait until next year!!!

The cooking camp was so much fun for my 13yo son. He loved coming home with food to share with us, and the cookoff competition at the end of the week was super fun. Really creative, well done, excellent experience

The teen cooking camp was wonderful! Expert chefs led the camp in an industrial-style kitchen where the kids learned hands-on cooking skills and techniques. The learning was collaborative and fun. No lunch to pack because the kids eat what they make at camp that day! Some days dinner was also brought home. The kids really showcased their skills on the last day at a cooking competition. Everyone involved with the camp was friendly and supportive, and the camp was filled with talent!

This camp was an incredible. My son complains about every day camp, and at the end of the week he said it was the best camp he has ever been to. Not only that, the staff went above and beyond to help my kid. The cooking camp is the best kept secret in Pittsburgh!

My kids have participated in both the Camp Delicious and Ambassador camps at Luminari, and each one provided an incredible week of real-world, hands-on learning. The curriculums are thoughtfully designed, well organized, and give young adults meaningful opportunities to build practical skills—whether exploring the culinary skills or learning the art of diplomacy. Luminari's camps are truly unique and offer experiences that are hard to find anywhere else. They inspire kids to think critically, collaborate, and approach the world with greater confidence and curiosity. The impact extends far beyond the week of camp!

I recently attended a wrap up session for the Luminari summer camp “I Want to Be An Ambassador”. This was an exciting camp for students age 12 to 18 to learn techniques about public speaking, body language, communicating effectively and to broaden their horizons. The weeklong camp ended with a two day trip to Washington DC to meet the ambassadors from the People’s Republic of China, the Ukraine, and Mexico. EVERY student enthusiastically reported that this camp went way beyond their expectations and was “awesome“. They were excited with the skills that they learned and also with meeting people from the various embassies. Many of the students said that they would be interested in pursuing a career in diplomacy. This is an excellent camp and I highly recommend it for students who attend middle or senior schools.

My daughter was a participant in the camp and absolutely loved it. She continued to hone her communication and leadership skills. The camp was unique, engaging and culminated with a trip to our Nation's capital DC. They visit museums, restaurants and embassies. The only complaint I have is I wish it were longer!! I would highly recommend participating in the camp if interested.

The camp provided amazing opportunities including going to DC to visit the Ukraine, Chinese, and Mexican embassies. While at these places I got more and more confident about asking questions and commenting on their points due to the speakers that came to talk to us here at Winchester thurston.

We loved this program! Such dedicated staff, their passion for the program has spilled into the kids! My daughter is taking with her the skills needed for not only the career she is pursuing, but also life skills that she will benefit from anywhere she goes!

Both of my high school daughters had an amazing experience at Luminari Camp. From the beautiful campus in Winchester to the unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C., every aspect of the program challenged them to learn, lead, and confidently be themselves.

My daughters' leadership journeys began at birth, but Luminari gave them an opportunity to see what leadership looks like on a larger stage, from engaging with peers and mentors to exploring our nation's capital and learning about government firsthand. They returned home with new knowledge, new relationships, and a deeper understanding of how they can make an impact in the world.

We are so happy they had the opportunity to participate. Luminari creates an environment where young people are encouraged to think critically and lead boldly. I highly recommend this program.

Great experience and I learned so much along the way and made great friends as well . Definitely recommend to any student who wants to build communication skills.
I had a great time at this camp! The teachers/guest speakers were very passionate about their subjects which made it even more engaging. Would certainly recommend for those thinking about doing anything related to public affairs, politics, and leadership.

My daughter attended the ‘I want to be an Ambassador’ camp and she had such a fantastic time. She is 15, and it started the Tuesday after school let out, so she was not very excited to start. After the first day however, she definitely changed her tune. Everyday she came home ready to share the details of what she experienced and looking forward to the next. Going to Washington DC was a big highlight for her as well. While we’ve gone and toured many different museums, the unique experience of getting to visit embassies of different countries was amazing. She said she will never forget this camp, and is already trying to plan another camp with luminaries with the friends she made from this one. We definitely recommend to any kid that’s serious about growth as a person and a leader, not just the career of ambassador.
