Musicians, producers, and music enthusiasts will experience the art of creating and distributing music. Teens will have the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of the process from writing, producing, engineering, recording, distributing, and marketing a record. They will not only have access to the latest in music technology, but also access to vintage historical audio equipment and instruments.
The business of music has changed dramatically over the last several decades, primarily as a result of technology and innovation. Not only can music be created at home on a laptop, but it can also be digitally distributed globally with the push of a button on that same laptop.
There are few things more powerful and emotionally rewarding than musicians creating and producing music together and sharing their influential messages locally, nationally, and internationally. It’s interactive. It’s inclusive. It’s liberating.
Sponsored by The Vault Recording Studio and The Rhythm19 Fund, this 4-day camp for rising 8th-12th graders will provide aspiring musicians, engineers, producers, and music lovers at all levels with access to a world-class recording studio and an award-winning team of artists, educators, producers, engineers, and music executives.
With six-time Grammy winner Jimmy Hoyson (credits include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Jackson, Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day) and multi-platinum engineer/producer Dave Hillis (credits include Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, James Blunt), among many others, you will have access to a wealth of experience. Campers will have the opportunity to create, produce and record original music together, while also learning more about how a record label works and the business of distributing and marketing music.
